This was from earlier, but I wanted to add because you made a comment about it. It's about children with learning disabilities in the foster care system. I was incorrectly diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 10, and I was medicated. I was not tested for a learning disability until I was in the 10th grade. That was when they realized I did not have a learning disability by any means. It was just that I needed a little bit of extra time because I had test anxiety, which is very normal for a lot of people. It's not uncommon.
To be able to have that testing before assuming things is very important, but the government doesn't cover it. That's the reason, I'm sure, that they don't test you when you're in care. They say to just give them the medication. Does that work? I don't think it does.
