Lassonde-Tyler Hockey Tournament  Mr. Speaker, the 16th edition of the Lassonde-Tyler hockey tournament is wrapping up today at the Centre sportif Gaétan-Boucher, in my riding of Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne. This tournament is the only one of its kind in North America, as it is exclusively for players 70 years of age and older.

RTL Longueuil and Agropur  Mr. Speaker, I am very proud to rise today to congratulate two businesses in my riding of Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne that have just been recognized as being among Canada's best employers. Not only did RTL Longueuil and Agropur capture a spot on Forbes Magazine's list of top 300 employers, but they also made the top 100.

Petitions  Mr. Speaker, today I am presenting e-petition 1558, which was initiated by two constituents in my riding of Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne. It received the minimum number of required signatures within 48 hours of its posting on the House of Commons website. E-petition 1558 is about sudden unexplained death in childhood, SUDC, occurring between one and 19 years of age.

Royal Canadian Legion  Mr. Speaker, last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending an event to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 94, which is located in my riding, Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne. I was thrilled to join fellow comrades and friends of Greenfield Park Legion Branch 94 in recognizing the vital role it has played in supporting our veterans and the wider community for 75 years and counting.

Areo-Fire  Mr. Speaker, I recently had the opportunity to visit the premises of Areo-Fire, a company in Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne that specializes in fire protection equipment and services. During my visit, I saw a demonstration of the T-Rex 115-foot aerial articulating platform, which was just delivered to Canadian Forces Base Bagotville.

Veterans Affairs  Madam Speaker, we know that former members of the Canadian Armed Forces want a tangible way to identify themselves as veterans. We are exploring options with the Department of National Defence to develop a veterans identification card that will be an official Government of Canada ID card for veterans.

Starting today, barbecue lovers are invited to Greenfield Park to enjoy some of the best ribs in town, along with great music, entertainment, and fun for the whole family as we kick off summer in style.

The Optimist Club runs programs and activities to fulfill its mission to support the youth of Laflèche, and I would say mission accomplished.

National Volunteer Week  Mr. Speaker, on this National Volunteer Week, I want to tip my hat to all the volunteers in my riding. By generously giving their time and energy, volunteers in Longueuil—Charles-LeMoyne contribute in an exceptional way to the good of our community. From serving hot lunches to seniors at soup kitchens to making sure that every child gets a toy at Christmas, they comfort the hurt and the lonely, and they fundraise for our charitable organizations.

Veterans  Mr. Speaker, I want to thank my colleague for her question. As I just mentioned, the legislative process takes time. For example, we just spent 22 hours dealing with the budget. It takes time to implement legislative measures and to put in place the processes to fulfil our promise of a pension for life.
