Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, I retract it, but I do know that they have met with neo-Nazis from Germany. That is a separate issue.

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, you did hear it before, so you will hear it again: I retract and I apologize. I certainly apologize, as well, for anybody who had to watch the behaviour of the Conservatives who shut down our committee with screaming, shouting and intimidation for eight straight hours.

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, I will say this for the third time: I retract it. I apologize. Can I continue?

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, yes, certainly, I retract it, but I will now go back to the point—

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, it is very telling because we did have to listen to eight hours of screaming, shouting and intimidation—

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, today is an important day and a proud day. It is a day that we fulfill the promise to workers who came to us and said that they needed to have their voices heard in dealing with the biggest economic and environmental crisis of the last 300 years. I think back seven years ago, in Edmonton, when I met with the incredible workers at Local 424 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Mr. Speaker, certainly what we have seen from the Conservatives is part of the pattern of toxic disinformation. The only way one can get away with standing up in the House and making ridiculous claims about some kind of international globalist conspiracy that will kill 170,000, 190,000 or millions of jobs is if they try to shut down the facts.

Canadian Sustainable Jobs Act  Madam Speaker, that was a master class in disinformation, but it was a dismal example of what we have seen from that member in misrepresentations. I was fascinated that the last time she did one of her spiels, she claimed that Bill C-50, which came to us from working with labour unions and energy workers, was a “woke globalist agenda.”

Committees of the House  Mr. Speaker, it has been so difficult to follow. My understanding was that the Conservatives refused to support our work on helping the military, but there was so much chaos in the House that I am wondering whether the hon. member from Burnaby he could repeat so we can have it on the record.

Committees of the House  Madam Speaker, I just want to follow up. I think it is a question of respect, about people being in the House, and I do remember that my Conservative colleagues were there all night. It was their leader who was off having canapés—

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, when we had energy workers come talk to Parliament about being part of a new energy economy and the need to have their voices at the table, the Conservatives shut them down. They shut down the IBEW. They shut down the construction workers. They shut down the building trades.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, the member has made an accusation that 50% of the Conservatives do not believe in climate change. I think he needs to prove it. Maybe it is 100%.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I would like to support my colleague. It is really unfair for the NDP members to talk about science when there are Conservatives in the room. I think it puts us all at a great disadvantage.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I just want to say I would be careful in believing anything Danielle Smith said. They want to bring her to have a premiers' conference. This is the woman who said cigarette smoking was good for people. No wonder she thinks burning the planet is good for us too, while Alberta dies in drought and she cannot keep the power on.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, we gave $31 billion to big oil, so companies could take unrefined bitumen; they would not even bother to process it in Canada. It is the dirtiest product on the planet, and we are going to have the taxpayers pay to ship it. Meanwhile, the Conservatives cheer it on and the Liberals say it is going to be good because they will somehow lower our emissions.
