It is the Government of Canada and governments across this country, and those are being invested in health care, our roads and the infrastructure across this country.

Taxation  Mr. Speaker, Canadians in rural and northern communities are disproportionately disadvantaged by the Prime Minister’s carbon tax. New studies by the parliamentary budget office and the Bank of Canada have confirmed that Canadians are paying more in this tax than they receive in rebates and that this tax is contributing to out-of-control inflation.

Carbon Tax  Mr. Speaker, this Friday, April 1, the NDP-Liberal coalition government will make life less affordable for Canadians by breaking their promise and increasing the carbon tax again. Canadians cannot afford this April Fool's punishment, especially those living in rural and northern communities like mine.

Emergencies Act  Mr. Speaker, I can assure the member that I was not old enough to sit in the House at that time. However, in all seriousness, the reason members of the House are pleading with the NDP is that it will decide if the Prime Minister will continue to have these powers or if on Monday he will be held accountable by the courts and the provisions and protections we all covet, which the NDP, at least under Tommy Douglas, believed in.
