Petitions  Mr. Speaker, I rise to present a petition in opposition to the Liberals' capital gains tax hike. The petitioners note that this capital gains tax hike would strain health care resources, limit access to affordable housing options, exacerbate financial challenges for farmers and compromise retirement savings for Canadians.

Ethics  Mr. Speaker, who is Randy? The Minister of Employment has a 50% stake in a shady company. Someone named Randy from the company is implicated in a half-million-dollar fraud. The minister says that he is not that Randy, yet incredibly, for the past two weeks, he has been unable to identify who that other Randy is.

Electoral Participation Act  Madam Speaker, this is about as cynical as it gets. This is a pension bill under the guise of an elections bill. It ought to be called the “loser Liberal pension protection act”, because that is precisely what it is doing. It is designed to pad the pockets of soon-to-be loser Liberals so that they can secure pensions that they otherwise would not be entitled to.

Petitions  Madam Speaker, I rise to present two petitions. The first petition is from petitioners who observe the gross human rights violations being perpetrated by the Chinese Communist regime against Falun Gong practitioners. The petitioners call on the government to invoke Magnitsky sanctions on the perpetrators of these human rights abuses and to refuse immigration or a visitor visa to those who are persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Petitions  Madam Speaker, the second petition is from Canadians who are calling on the government to use all legislative tools available, including invoking the notwithstanding clause, to override the Supreme Court of Canada's unjust decision in Bissonnette. This struck down a very reasonable law passed by the Harper government giving judges the flexibility and the discretion to impose consecutive sentencing on some of Canada's worst murderers.

Innovation, Science and Industry  Madam Speaker, yesterday the Auditor General confirmed that a staggering 400 million taxpayers' dollars improperly went out the door at the Liberals' green slush fund. Board members illegally funnelled $319 million into their own companies. Meanwhile, the current minister and former minister turned a blind eye to corruption on a level that makes the sponsorship scandal look small.

Amendments to the Standing Orders  Madam Speaker, I rise to speak in support of a motion put forward by my learned colleague, the member for Lanark—Frontenac—Kingston. The motion instructs the procedure and House affairs committee to undertake a study to consider a series of proposed amendments to the Standing Orders.

Message from the Senate  Madam Speaker, the parliamentary secretary is misrepresenting the facts to the extent that he suggested that all relevant documents have been turned over to Madam Justice Hogue. The procedure and House affairs committee passed a motion to get to the bottom of the Prime Minister's obstruction with respect to turning over documents.

Message from the Senate  Madam Speaker, the cover-up continues. The Prime Minister covered up Beijing's interference in the 2019 and 2021 elections, because it benefited the Liberal Party. When he got caught, the Prime Minister went to extraordinary lengths to cover up what he knew and what he failed to do about Beijing's interference.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, what I said, and what the opposition House leader has provided for as the path forward in his letter, is for Madam Justice Hogue to thoroughly review all the intelligence, make findings of fact and release the names of those who wittingly, knowingly, deliberately and willingly collaborated with hostile foreign states.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, the leader of the Conservative Party does not have the authority to expel a member of caucus. That is a caucus decision. What could the Leader of the Opposition do based on a security briefing? In fact, it might impede his ability to act. What we need is not more secrecy; we need transparency.

Business of Supply  Madam Speaker, I simply say to the Liberals that if they have nothing to hide, they should release the names with an appropriate process. They can refer the evidence over to Madam Justice Hogue and let her make findings of fact. Let there be transparency. The government has been repeatedly told that the best way to counter foreign interference is through sunlight and making foreign interference known to the public.
