Seniors  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for her question. The age well at home initiative is a national program designed to help seniors age safely and with dignity. Our government has invested $90 million across the country so that community organizations can submit projects. Some organizations in Quebec have submitted projects, and we are going to work hard with the Government of Quebec to ensure that they receive their funding.

Seniors  Mr. Speaker, community organizations have been working hard to present and develop projects under this national program. Seniors need these projects, which involve things like delivering meals and helping with transportation. We are working on solutions with Quebec because we want to make sure that community organizations get the money they need to help seniors.

Miscarriage of Justice Review Commission Act (David and Joyce Milgaard's Law)  moved that the bill, as amended, be concurred in.

Employment  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for her question. It is extremely important that our government invest in training. We are making historic investments in training. We will continue to work with businesses across Quebec. As the minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, that is exactly what I am doing.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, I would like to remind my colleague that one of the measures in the last budget we tabled was praised by people like those at FRAPRU. This housing rights group noted that we invested $1.5 billion to take housing out of the market. What does that mean? It means securing and reserving affordable rents, off the market, for people who need them.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, I want to say to the member and to all Canadians who are watching that the current government was the first government that made historic investments in housing. Not only that, but we also recognize the human right to housing. We have, for the first time, named a commissioner to defend the rights of tenants, and we will continue to work with all provinces and municipalities to defend those rights.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, I have good news for my colleague opposite. This morning, Statistics Canada reported that April saw a record number of new building permits granted. In fact, 22,600 new permits were granted in a single month. That number, 22,600, is far greater than 6.

Taxation  Mr. Speaker, it makes no sense for a nurse to pay a higher tax rate than a multi-millionaire. That is currently the situation. We have a duty to ensure fairness. By increasing the capital gains tax, we will invest more in housing, more in prescription drugs, more in the social safety net.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, I would tell Mr. Patry that today is a day that will go down in history. Today we are going to implement tax measures that will ensure fairness and allow us to invest in housing, health care and medication. I hope the NDP will follow our lead. What we are doing today is making sure that we are going to call on multi-millionaires to do a little more to help Mr.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, I would like to remind my dear colleague that when his leader was the minister responsible for housing, he built six housing units. I repeat, six housing units. The housing plan we have in place will create more than 3.8 million homes in Canada in the next few years.

Housing  Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleague for his question. As he is well aware, we made historic investments in the last federal budget. We even announced a new program, the co-op program. It is the best investment in co-operatives in 30 years, precisely to create non-market housing. We will continue to work with all partners to build more housing, particularly in Montreal.

Indigenous Affairs  Mr. Speaker, indigenous tourism is a pillar of the government's tourism growth strategy, and Canada has the potential to become a leader in the world when it comes to authentic indigenous tourism. That is why NACCA will be delivering new funding to support large, scaled-up indigenous tourism projects.

Public Safety  Mr. Speaker, I am an MP from Montreal and I am very happy to see that my colleague is interested in what is happening there. I am the member for Hochelaga, where there is a homelessness crisis. We are working to address it every day. On our side of the House, we are putting in place programs that the Conservatives consistently vote against.

Pharmacare Act  Mr. Speaker, according to the Fédération du Québec pour le planning des naissances, every dollar invested in contraception saves the Quebec government $90 in health care costs. Not all forms of contraception are available at this time. For example, IUDs are not covered by pharmacare.
