Justice committee  If I may clarify, sir, I want to quibble with the term “significant errors”. There was one primary error that related to the coding of previous NCR cases. When we looked at research on recidivism, or the number of individuals found NCR, or the nature of the offences that led to the NCR, all that data remained the same.

Justice committee  I think it is important for the committee to have accurate and up-to-date information on such a serious issue, and I hope that the report that was provided to the office in March can be made available to the members of this committee for their deliberations on this topic. My position is the review boards are typically doing a very good job of making these decisions.

Justice committee  I would add that in terms of the meetings that I had at the beginning of March, I very much appreciated the openness of members of all parties to some of the suggestions that I was bringing forward. I also circulated an e-mail earlier today to all the members of the committee regarding some possible amendments for your consideration.
